What type of reputation do you have?

In Acts 6:3, the leaders of the growing church had a problem with feeding the Hellenistic Jewish widows. So, the solution was to select 7 men of a good reputation to handle the money and the feeding of these widows' plus they needed also to be full of the Holy Spirit.

This past week I can honestly say by the grace of God I have a good reputation in the community.  Just today I was jogging my route where I jog for 45 min and then walk back home through small boroughs witnessing and praying for people. As I walked past this home an older lady called for me to come into her home. In broken English and mostly Tagalog she asked me to come and pray for her husband who was in pain and suffering from a stroke. I had never seen this woman before today.  Word must have come to her that the “white man” who jogs/walks, prays for people and the people are healed! I did pray for Harry and he started to improve, I then gave the Gospel to the whole house and they called upon the name of Jesus.

Again, just last week I was leaving the subdivision where I live, a tricycle driver said he has pain in his chest and requested for me to pray for him. I really thank God for these moments. I know I did not have this type of reputation in the past.  I think of a wonderful man of God named Dan Mohler; he was an assistant pastor of a church. After years of serving the Lord, Dan noticed he was not reaching the lost so he decided to quit pastoring and found a job in a factory.  After living a life of love and light for one year, a man approached Dan and said, “I have been a Christian for 20 years and I have been watching you live out your faith.  Dan, I do not believe I am a Christian.”Many of you know me before I began walking in selfless love. So, there's hope for all.  What type of reputation do you have?  Mine is I am becoming more and more like the image of Jesus!! Romans 8:29

Devotions and Encouragements...

HIS SHEEPS KNOW HIS VOICE

Even today, sheep are separated from other flocks by the sound of their shepherd's voice. They follow their shepherd while sheep from other flocks follow their own shepherd even if the flocks are intermingled.

Jesus wants us to know that as our Shepherd, He knows us INTIMATELY and will CALL US by NAME. In return, we need to LEARN to RECOGNIZE His voice when He calls us.

How?

By reading His words and learning to recognize His ways and His will. He will lead us where He wants us to go and bless us as we need to be blessed, but we need to be able to distinguish His voice from the many false religious voices that crowd into our world today.

The only way to recognize Jesus' voice is to listen to and follow the words God has given us from Jesus in the Scriptures.

Challenge!

Let US renew our passion to know Jesus and follow His words!

John 10:3-4

3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep listen to his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

4 When he puts all his own sheep outside, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

Note: My husband, Wendell Schultz love these verses (John 10-3-4) that is why I edited this lovely picture for him 🙂

SEE A VICTORY...

The weapon may be formed but it won’t prosper

When the darkness falls it won’t prevail

Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph

My God will never fail

I’m gonna see a victory

For the battle belongs to You Lord

There’s power in the mighty name of Jesus

Every war He wages He will win

I’m not backing down from any giant

I know how this story ends

You take what the enemy meant for evil

And You turn it for good

You turn it for good

The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17)

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

14 Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15 and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
