Oh July!!!

Two weeks into being lead pastors of our tribe, it seems most are accepting and hungry, ready to grow and bring the kingdom to those who are lost!

Jen has done a great job of using her discerning gift, and wisdom to bring those on the fringe into the center and beginning to warm up to the Lord.  My job is to follow up the men of the tribe.  The men who are attending are on fire.

You can tell the wife who really wants her husband to rise and take over, lead the family in all areas of life, but lies, the world, and is just plain dead.  It is a struggle for these women.  I hope to teach a bible study to the wives how to love and pray for these men and put the ball in God's hands.  If they do this, I believe their husbands will be in the church and on fire within one year.  Prayer and obedience really works, plus teaching them how to use Luke 18 with scripture is very powerful.

Things at Barangay Atioc are still the same 250 saved/healed, no life.  So, starting this Saturday we are going to use a one scripture discovery bible outreach for the next 6 weeks.  What we see is that people do not want to be pushed into God or church or bible study.  So, we will just pastor them with love, prayer, small teaching and see where that leads.  Please pray for Dante who lives with these people and feels so discouraged.

Flesh and lies is so strong here in the Church planting team.  We started out with about 15 people who wanted to go into the streets healing the sick, casting out demons, walking in power and bringing the Kingdom of God.  With a broken heart as I write this letter, 3 members have left and moved in with their boyfriend or girlfriend. 1 has repeatedly slept with a person.  I have asked advice as to how to approach these people, but no good answers have come our way.  So, Jen and I pray for them and wait on the Lord.  Last week, I did not say names but sternly warned our remaining members that when we kick down the gates of hell we paint a huge bullseye on our lives, plus walking in power is toxic if we do not keep close to the Lord and Holy Spirit.  Please pray for Mardy, Angel, Princess and Ding.  Light and mercy would lead them back to the one who lived and died for them.

Our church has just taken on a responsibility of hosting a 3-hour prayer watch from 6-9am daily.  Since I speak English they have asked me to go there daily. Yes, 7 days a week!  I really struggled with that because I am a street preacher not a religious babysitter.  As I was having it out with the Lord.  The Holy Spirit told me this is all from Him and that I am to submit to my Pastor and trust the Lord.  So please pray for me, my routine of walking and praying for people is on hold, my Tagalog lessons also are on hold. Plus, I have not worked on the book so I do not do well with this huge change, I am adjusting but need your prayers! We will post links of the Words that Wendell has shared...in the coming days :) Jen will edit or shorten them :)

On a happier note.  After the meeting yesterday I was riding home on a tricycle, around 10 am.  There has been new construction in our subdivision and I have been praying for opportunities to give the gospel to these men.  Jen told me the best time to reach them is on their break, I saw them standing around yesterday and walked up to 6 men and gave them the morning greeting and then asked if anyone had pain in their body?  Juan said he had a bad toothache.  I then asked a young man Jay to place his hand on Juan's jaw and command healing in Jesus's name.  In two prayers all the pain left.  I then gave the one verse gospel 2 Cor 5:21 and asked if they wanted to give their lives to Jesus who died for them and also took Juan's pain away?  They all said yes!

Praise of Thanksgiving

A big praise: My passport has my permanent visa stamp.  So, I will not need to get an update every two months, and In March of 2022 I pay $750.00 then I will get my permanent visa that only needs to be renewed every 5 years.  This visa will allow Jen and I to come and go in and out of the Philippines with no hassles plus it will be easier for Jen and I to visit America!

Prayer Requests

Our prayer requests are above.  Our praise cell groups are growing, the tribe is coming alive. We were able to pay our 300 electric bill and we are doing all we can to cut usage.  We have found out the government has doubled everyone’s bill.  So, pray for the poor; they are the ones who are suffering the most.  We love you all and thank God that you are partnering with us!

Devotions and Encouragements...

“Your Christian confession isn't what transforms you;

Your union and relationship with God is what transforms you.”

"But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. " 2 Corinthians 3:18

We are not being converted by improving our behavior, according to 2 Corinthians 3:18. Being transformed in this way is linked to seeing the Lord's glory. Something great happens when we behold the Lord in our fellowship with Him.

The transformation of a caterpillar is an excellent example of metabolic change. A caterpillar is born with the life force that will eventually change it into a butterfly. It doesn't dress up as a butterfly or try to mimic its behavior.

The caterpillar does nothing but eat. It grows as it consumes the required nutrients. Then it forms a cocoon in which it remains as changes in its body occur gradually. The caterpillar eventually transforms into a butterfly. An organic process results in the transformation of a crawling, wormlike insect into a graceful, attractive butterfly.

Transformation doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a lifelong process, so we shouldn’t be discouraged or impatient. God is very happy to let this genuine change transpire in us by the gradual spreading of His life. The main thing is that we need to spend time to behold the Lord and continually eat and drink Him (communion).

STOP living by FEELING...START living by FAITH

God gave us our feelings and emotions for a reason. Living by faith doesn’t mean we ignore them. They are not evil by themselves, but what we allow our thoughts to dwell on may be negative and causing an unhealthy overload of negative emotions.

Living by faith means allowing God to be our guide and not our emotions.

Our emotions are a gauge, not a guide...

It will be in our best interest if we learn how to handle our feelings by responding well. Remember Philippians 4:8 and 2 Corinthians 10:5 when dealing with our feelings and thought process

Philippians 4:8 | "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is [a]lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

2 Corinthians 10:5 | "We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ..."
