Greetings from the Pearl of the Orient Seas, The Philippines!

Well, we hoped to send you short praise letters weekly…lol until we lost internet for 10 days.  Jen works daily as an SEO/GVA person, so we were able to use Jen's phone for two days until we found a new provider.  For now, we will keep two internet companies until school gets out and we decide that one will be better than the other.

Praises! Praises! Praises!

I am now well on my way to becoming a Filipino resident! Last week we applied for my probationary permanent visa status.  After a 9-month probation period, I will again fill out the paperwork and then will have my permanent status.  The total cost is around $1400.00 and the Lord gave this to us thru a friend of ours' in honor of her God-fearing Dad who had just passed away in December.  Thank you!

One more praise!

I have a Filipino teacher now and have begun the process of learning Tagalog :)

Our church planting efforts in Barangay Atioc is going well, as we have now reached over 200 people with healings and salvation.  Now we are starting the process of bible studies and moving toward building a church.

Healing! Healing! Healing!

Four weeks ago, I was asked to come and pray for a man named Odie who was hearing voices in his head and yelling at people. I asked my church planting pastor Dante to help out so that he could translate.  When we first met Odie he was totally drunk and was in no shape to be helped.  So we said we would come back the next week.  I was able to meet again with Odie, was able to reaffirm his faith in the Lord, cast out a few demons, and then had Odie filled with the Holy Spirit!!  Just last Sunday Odie and his sisters attended Church.  See the pics below.  plus see the narrow street we are holding a bible study.  yes, it is that small but it was great to share the living word with Odie and his family.

Consolidation of the people in Barangay Atioc into a church - our next step for the church planting team which seems to be growing from 6 now up to 15.

SUBSTITUTIONARY ATONEMENT

Christ died on the cross as our substitute. Without Him, we would suffer the death penalty for our own sins.

"He [God] made Him [Jesus Christ] who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

By shedding His blood on the cross, Jesus took the punishment we deserve and offered us His righteousness. When we trust Christ for our salvation, basically we are making a trade. By faith, we trade our sin and its accompanying death penalty for His righteousness and life.

Jesus did not die on the cross to take us to heaven...He died on the cross to bring back our worth and bring heaven to us.
