Hello dear friends, Happy fall to you all!

Jen and I are now celebrating my 3rd year of living here in the Philippines! Wow, time flies. I arrived here in the Philippines October 1st 2019. As I wrote in the previous email, Jen now has her new passport so now we will submit a visitor's visa request to the US Embassy. We are asking our Lord for a miracle and that she will come to the U.S. next May of 2023 to attend my Niece's wedding and visit as many people as possible. Why a miracle? Because of Covid, the backlog of work at the Embassy is enormous, Jen would not be able to get an interview until March of 2024...but we will see.
Typhoon #Karding Category 4
As many of you know we just went through a Typhoon here at Tarlac. 130-150 mph winds. We lost power for 48 hours but no major damage to our home or neighborhood. We are so thankful there was no loss of life reported in our city of 400 thousand.

Jen and I are pastors to about 200 people now and one of our families Angie and Edward had a huge tree fall upon their home and crushed the home in half, one side is standing the other side is completely gone (see pics). This couple is in their 70's and Angie suffers from arthritis. Last Christmas our tribe bought Angie and Edward a peddle bike so that Angie could ride and sell her baked goods for an income. I was shocked at how primitive Edward and Angie live. They have a hand pump outside of their home to get water, and they have an outhouse for a toilet and shower, and they cook over wood. They do have electricity which is a blessing.

Jen and I would like to raise 3000 U.S. Dollars to have a concrete house built for them. Our tribe has raised about 200.00, and our main church has pledged another 1000.00. We would like for you to please pray and see if you can join us in helping rebuild their home? All money sent by you will go directly to building the home and it is tax deductible as you send it through our home Mission agency World Outreach. Just click on our link below and follow the instructions on how to give, also in the comment section just say it is the special project for Angie and Edward. I know you are all in financial difficulties because of inflation, coming out of the Covid pandemic and cost of food gas and everything has gone up. I think we have over 200 people on our praise letter. If we all could just send 10 dollars the home would be complete. Thank you for your prayers on this project.
Also, as you see the pictures of the home and the family who came to help clean up the mess, I was able to give the gospel to these 6 men and boys, all gave their lives over to our Lord!!! In one of the pictures you can see they have already bought some blocks and cement to start the construction. That material was bought with the 200 dollars our tribe had given to them three days before the picture. To be honest Jen and I had gone to visit Angie and Edward on Tuesday 27th of September, giving them the money. On Saturday after a cell group meeting, I wanted to go and check on them to see how they were using the money (I was afraid they would spend it on other things than their home). It was my delight to see the rebuilding material and so many people helping to rebuild. We have contacted a friend, John, who did work for us in our home and he said they could build a simple home for $3000.00.

"Keeper" by Philippine National Police (PNP)
I was asked by the PNP Philippine National Police to be their keeper of expats here on my side of Tarlac. I like to think of it as being my brother's keeper. Basically, I am a volunteer to locate and contact all foreigners in my 2-mile radius. I will then get all their contact information, so if there are any emergencies they can be contacted by the Philippine government. I also will be the contact person for any problems the foreigners might encounter. I am excited since I love meeting new people, I will also be walking to different neighborhoods looking to meet these people. And of course, tell them about our Lord Jesus!!!

Walking in the Light of God...
Just yesterday I was walking down our main street, going to a cell group meeting. An older lady stopped me and said in broken English and Tagalog that her knee had arthritis and that she was in pain. That would have never happened 3 years ago. The Lord has given me much favor with these local people. I commanded all the pain to leave and the lady was healed. Another lady in pink shorts holding the hand of a child was walking down the road and you can see the white squares on the side of her head. I guess these are aspirin patches that they put on when they have a fever or headache. Oh what joy to give her the kingdom of God thru healing and then the gospel (Luke 10) The man in the blue shorts and green shirt, That is Dante the tricycle driver in last month’s praise letter who I had never met but he drove me to church at 5:30 am and then asked for prayer for his broken arm. I just happened to be walking past his home when he came out to greet me and show me his healed arm. Again there are so many healings and salvations I cannot write about them all, so I will just post the pictures that I have taken, when I have remembered.

2 Kings 13:18-19 (NASB)
18 Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground,” and he struck it three times and stopped.
19 So the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck five or six times, then you would have struck Aram until you would have destroyed it. But now you shall strike Aram only three times.”
Joash, king of Israel, had exclusively followed Elisha's instructions up to this point, but now Elisha wished to test the king's faith. In verse 17, Elisha gently warned him that perseverance would be required to defeat their opponent, Syria. He gave the king the order to strike the ground, but he did not specify how many times. The idea was that the king should have faith in God and not just follow what the prophet advised. Elisha had great faith that God would deliver them from their adversaries, but how about the king of Israel?
The lesson here is that we cannot rely on another person's faith or relationship with the Lord in order to succeed. The king opted to strike the ground three times without being informed how many times. The prophet was both disappointed and incensed by this. The consequences would be modest and below what God could have accomplished because the king simply had a tiny amount of trust and didn't expect anything extraordinary. They only managed to defeat the Syrians three times as a result, which resulted in a lackluster spiritual life for Israel under King Joash. This king left behind a mediocre, common, everyday life. If he had trusted the Lord, he might have grown to be a great king, but he never truly lived for God.
This prompts us to ponder: What about us? Is our confidence in the Lord vast and complete, or is it merely average? How will our children perceive our relationship with God, both spiritually and physically? How will we leave them a legacy?
My Fervent Prayer:
LORD, make us the men and women of God that You desire us to be. We want to ‘strike the ground’ over and over again for Your kingdom...regardless of rejection and persecution. In Jesus' powerful name. Amen!
Shoot your ARROWS of VICTORY! Don't stop!

Our prayers and thanksgiving!
Our praises are always for so many lives touched and changed here in the Philippines, by the Lord and the wonderful gospel. Please continue to pray for many opportunities for the gospel to be proclaimed and that we would have the right words at the right time.Pray for new directions for Jen and I as we head into the Christmas season. We have our lights up and are playing Christmas music. I know this drives the Americans crazy but this is what the Filipino people love to do.To make disciples and equip the next generation.
Today, 1st of October, marks his 3rd year of obedience to God's call of going to Philippines to serve the people. Notwithstanding the culture differences and uncertainties, he left his country and family in humble obedience to the call. He experienced a lot of things: misunderstood, rejected, gossiped and humiliated (Jesus was). He cried many tears (Jesus did) but he never questioned "the call" because his genuine love for the people particularly those in the slum areas (the lowly) is more important to him than what some people thinks of him. Every week he visits an old bedridden man and spends at least 30 minutes with him after his cellgroup. He bought a small bluetooth speaker and asked me to save Tagalog worship songs which he plays for him. One day, when he visited the old man, he saw that he was lying on his own poop scattered on the bed, he closed the door and he cleaned him up, changed his diaper, and cleaned the bed and changed the beddings. That was the first time he came home late and he didn't want to tell me because he was thinking I might stop him from visiting that old man, but I know how to do cross examination 😁 and finally he spilled the beans. His smiles resonates the glory of God inside him that even the guards, cashiers and even janitors of establishments honors him because he honors them (honor begets honor.) He even have muslim friends who love to see him passby their stores and as he greets them "as salam alaikom", they respond because he respects them (respect begets respect). There's a lot more to say about him that is why some people discredit him because he is REAL. He never boast about his educational attainment although he holds a Master's Degree in Communication (which he studied hard to attain it) and have worked in the Army Intelligence. He will take the bullets for me and for his friends (both literally and figuratively). He never seek position nor recognition here on earth because he is a genuine man growing in the grace of God and wants to honor God by living His Word while on earth.Happy 3 Challenging years in the Philippines 🤣Happy Pastors Month my dear sneakin' bomb! As each day pass by, I get to know you deeply and love you greatly next to Jesus...more than words ❤️❤️❤️
